Santa Isabel: Known as the Chapel of our Lady of Good Travel, now the Ermita of Sta. Isabel was named honoring the mother of San John.
San Sebastián: Name held by a Mayan village, which was neighbor of the city of Mérida.
Santa Ana: Name after a modest district of artisans of the colonial time.
Santiago: A suburb located just a few blocks from the main square, it has been witness of the changes that the city has experienced.
San Ildelfonso: Inspired in the Yucatecan Cathedral built in 1561.
Mejorada: Takes its name from the Franciscan convent of Our Lady of Traffic built in the XVII century.
Itzimná: Named by the famous quarter of Itzimná, of great importance for the Mayan culture and afterwards used as part of the convertion by the catholics.
Santa Lucía: A temple builtt in 1575, allocating the land adjacent to the cemetery of the Spanish.
