Travel Weekly: Mexico Boutique Hotels adds Baja property
The latest addition to the Mexico Boutique Hotels collection is Rancho Las Cruces, a 36-room hotel on the Sea of Cortes.
The family-owned hotel is 30 miles southeast of La Paz on the Baja Peninsula.
The intimate 1950s-era hideaway, decorated in Mexican colonial style, once was a haven for Hollywood stars, dignitaries and diplomats.
Until recently, a vacation stay at Rancho Las Cruces was limited to members only, but the Mexico Boutique Hotels affiliation has opened the property to all guests.
Bookings must be made through Mexico Boutique Hotels, which has member properties in 25 destinations throughout Mexico.
“Like other properties in our collection, Rancho Las Cruces gives travelers the chance to immerse themselves in a unique experience of Mexico, from the setting to the service to gourmet meals,” said Sylvie Laitre, managing director.
Activities in and around the resort include skeet shooting, tennis, golf, hiking day trips to Cerralvo Island, boating, fishing and other water sports.
