Take a look into one of the most famous historical sites in the city and do not think twice of staying at Casa Don Gustavo, while you explore Campeche.

Visit “La Puerta de Tierra” construction that allows to defend the city from enemies from any angle. It is a wall enclosed by a moat and has embrasures from which guns were fired. There are connecting rooms which were occupied by the guard and the troops on duty and also in the top of the door has a defense system which attacked the enemy in case of access. “La Puerta de Tierra”  has a sound and light show called “The Place of the Sun” performed from Thursday to Sunday at 20:00.
The spectator “travels back” to the colonial era in which “campechanos” (inhabitants from Campeche) fought and defended themselves from pirate attacks.

You can also combine your stay with a visit to the archaeological sites of Edzna, Balamkú and Calakmul between many others.
