Talpa de Allende, one of the eight magical towns in the state of Jalisco, outstands by its culture, religious tradition, and beautiful mountain landscapes. It is located in the west of the state, in the Western Sierra Coast Region, 190 kilometers west of the state capital.

WHAT SHOULD YOU TASTE?
The local cuisine offers as a representative dish the typical traditional birria, but there are other traditional dishes with a local touch, such as gorditas, pozole, tamales, and tostadas.
The sweet part of its gastronomy has the guava as the main protagonist, present in most desserts such as rolls and layers, although they are also made from other fruits, such as capulín, peach, nance, and pineapple.

The purchases of handicrafts and souvenirs are based on products made with chilte, a material produced by the sap of the chicozapote, which is collected and put on fire with water, until it acquires the consistency of gum.
Some of the most common crafts made with this unique material are: Baskets, hats, pitchers, casseroles. We can also find other types of clay crafts such as jugs, cups, vases, furniture, and pots.
Other representative artisan elements that are for sale are belts, huaraches, and saddles.

Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa: Located in the center of town, the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Rosario, Built in 1782 with Churrigueresque and Gothic style.
